PBL

This term our Project Based Learning (PBL) has been about cultural stories and the big question was;
What is the significance in the 21st Century of our Cultural stories?

First we brainstormed what culture is and came up with lots of ideas.Culture is…… Traditions that you might do that are different to others and where we are from.
Then we thought about our own culture and talked to our parents about our traditions and heritage. I wrote a post about my family and things we like to do.
In Literacy we read and discussed myths and legends from around the world then we concentrated on Maori legends. I read….Maoi and the sun,Battle of the mountains and loads more I have written my own legend called/I retold the legend of Maoi and the sun in my own words.

We made a performance about the story Battle of the Mountains. Some students wrote the script, some students took on the job of making all the artwork, some worked hard on organising the music and others took on the role of bringing the story alive with dance and drama.

Reflection:
For our production I contributed by doing dance

I think the show might impact on others by knowing more about the battle of the mountains

What I learned about working with others was that you may not always get you own way but you need to just go with it.

ENJOY!!!!

Fortnite all night!!!!

I read an article about fortnight and this is my retelling what I read in my own words…

Every so often a video game comes and sweeps the world by storm. Flappy bird,pokemon go,Nintendo DS,sims. And you get the picture.  Fortnite is a game that has Lots of different game modes. Like battle royale,save the world and many more. To me it doesn't sound like my type of thing.  Parents all over the world have been complaining that their children have been on it all day every day. One american mother used the phrase “addicted to it like drugs” she claimed it was the first thing he thought when he woke up and the last thing he thought before he went to bed. I get it addiction is a scary word mostly when you think you are the one addicted. If you are a parent the most simple solution is to limit your gaming time but not to young boys and girls. If your parents don't do this you might have to take matters into your own hands. Make yourself a time limit and try not to go above that limit. Learn to pick up some more hobbies. Try and do other stuff like If your a kid draw,watch TV go outside (if it is sunny) and for you adults get some extra hours at work, do a garage sale, bake,cook there is lots of other options that are not fortnite. Why do you or do or not like fornite?
